About Shorin-ryu Karate Dojo
The Shorin-ryu Karate Dojo was founded by Sensei Richard Gomez in 1975. By the middle 80's, the dojo was renamed YAMASHITA KARATE in honor of Sensei Tadashi Yamashita. Yamashita Karate Dojo is now operated here in San Antonio Texas under Sensei Steven Ballenger. Since our Dojo opened in 2004, we’ve evolved in mind, body and spirit in this unique form of self defense. We also have group and private lessons in Taijiquan and Wing Chun. We care about sharing, teaching and empowering students of all backgrounds with the discipline of the Martial Ways.
